Hi Sasha
Thanks a lot for your message. That was very sweet. I was out with Ricky, the rest of the Kaisers and the Cribs a few nights ago and they're all on good form.
It's a touching idea that you want to get this tattoo for Ricky, but I think it's a big mistake. I've spoken to most guys I know in bands about this and we all feel the same way - that it's very touching, but wrong. Your body is yours and it's for you to do with as you please, but there are better ways to show your appreciation for a band or a musician. I know there are several bands that I have loved at various points in my life, but if I had tattoos of them, I'd regret it now. Not because I don't like them any more, but because I listen to other things too.
I think another good indicator is of a time I worked in a kitchen with a chef from Durham. He had a few tattoos, but one of them was blurred and messy looking. I asked him what it said. He replied: "It used to say 'Tracy' until I took a knife to it".
I think it would mean a lot more to him if you could write him a nice message or even make some artwork for him. Most people in bands love that stuff.
Best wishes
Alex
